Register with a Unipass Digital Certificate
The easiest way to register is with a Unipass Digital Certificate. It's safe, secure and easy to use. You don't need any passwords - just one certificate gives you access to a multitude of financial service sites. It's free of charge to UK financial advisers and support staff, and there are other benefits too.
- Follow the simple online application on the Unipass website.
- Your new Unipass certificate is usually available within 1-2 working days.
- Once you get your Unipass (or if you already have a Unipass certificate) you just need to login and answer a couple of security questions to access our Online Services.

First to register from your firm?
If you are the first registrant on behalf of your firm, you will be regarded as Firm Access Controller/Supervisor. In addition to the four steps above, you will be asked to complete a fifth step in order to determine access levels for yourself and subsequent registrants form your firm.

How to get a Unipass certificate
Go to www.unipass.co.uk and click on 'Apply now'.
- Follow the simple online process.
- Your new Unipass certificate is usually available within 1-2 working days.
- Once you get your Unipass (or if you already have a Unipass Certificate), you just need to login and answer a few security questions to access our Online Services.
Now you've registered with UnipassOnce you're registered with Unipass, the final step is to quickly login with Scottish Widows.
Link your new Unipass certificate to an existing username and password
Just click log-in once you receive your Unipass certificate. Once you've done this you no longer need to use your Username and Password.

Access control and data security
With increased regulatory scrutiny over data protection, it is vital that appropriate controls are put in place to govern the access to your customer data.
To give you the confidence and certainty that the right degree of control is in place we have invested in supporting industry standard access control protocols provided through Unipass digital certificates.
Whilst we do still support username and password logins, Unipass represents the quickest, easiest and crucially the most secure way to access our online services both on the Extranet and through 3rd party integrations.
Be aware
Scottish Widows can’t accept responsibility for any unauthorised use of your secure online credentials resulting from negligence on your part. You must notify Scottish Widows immediately if you become aware of, or suspect, any unauthorised use of the services or any breach of security.
Sharing access credentials
Your right to use the services is personal to you and you may not permit any other person to access the services using your username and password or your Unipass certificate. Please note, it is a condition of your use of the services that the credentials issues to you are kept secure and confidential at all times and are not revealed to any other person.
